How to set up your Stripe card reader (S700 / S710)

Updated Mon Jun 08 2026 00:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)

For taking card payments at the cash register, we recommend the Stripe Reader S700 (or S710). You onboard the reader into your own Stripe account, and then wakesys links it to your point of sale so the Terminal payment option appears at checkout.

1. Power on and connect to Wi‑Fi

  1. Plug the reader into power with the USB‑C cable and hold the power button (right side) until the screen turns on.
  2. Swipe right from the left edge of the screen and tap Settings.
  3. Open Wi‑Fi settings, choose your network, and connect.

2. Generate a registration code

  1. Swipe right from the left edge and tap Settings.
  2. Enter the admin passcode 07139.
  3. Generate a pairing / registration code — it appears on the reader's screen.

3. Register the reader in your Stripe account

  1. In your Stripe Dashboard, go to Terminal → Readers → Register reader.
  2. Enter the registration code shown on the reader.
  3. Give it a name, assign a Location, and click Register.

4. wakesys links it to your point of sale

Once the reader is registered in your Stripe account, let us know and wakesys will link it to your point of sale. After that, Terminal shows up as a payment method when you sell a ticket.

Linking the reader to your point of sale is done by wakesys — you don't need to do it yourself. Onboarding the reader into your Stripe account (steps above) is the part we need you to do.
